Oh! That sounds fancy. “But what is it exactly,” you might ask. Well, allow me to explain to you what shiatsu massage is.
The Shiatsu is a massaging technique (originated in Japan) that demands manipulation of body muscle using the tip of one’s finger. The literal meaning of Shiatsu is “Finger Pressure.” Typically, Shiatsu Massage involves a masseuse pressing your body with his/her fingers with pressure.
With the fusion of modern science and amazing human technique, this art was bound to find a place outside the medical world. The healing benefits and pleasure that you gain from a Shiatsu massaging session is somewhat incomparable to other.
We’ll, talk about the health benefits of Shiatsu massager in great details in a later section (So, stick with the article).
If you are someone who sits in front of a computer all day, chances are you suffer from neck pain, back pain and the worst of them all – “Bad Posture Syndrome”.
All these issues can be easily dealt with a help of a Shiatsu massager. But finding the best Shiatsu massager that suits all your needs is no easy job (Trust me. I know the struggle). Hence, I’ve compiled a list of shiatsu massagers that are based on the part of the body they work on.
So, without any further ado, let’s dive straight into it.
Benefits of Shiatsu Massager
- 1 Benefits of Shiatsu Massager
- 2 Types of Shiatsu massager
- 3 9 Best Shiatsu Massager Based on The Area of the Body They Operate on
- 4 Final words
Despite being invented for the sole purpose of specific medical treatment, Shiatsu massage found its way to the typical massaging domain.
Now, you might be wondering. Hey! Every massager makes you feel relaxed and give you soothing sensations. How is a Shiatsu massager any different?
The reason behind Shiatsu being special is its ability to heal both internal and emotional conditions. Also, it helps you gain better skin (More on this later). Basically, shiatsu massage is yoga on steroids (I am not even joking) Below I’ll try my best to describe the numerous benefits of using a Shiatsu massager
- Helps cure stiffness in muscle: Shiatsu massager helps you remove muscle stiffness and helps the body to functionate properly. It also enriches blood flow, as a result, a good product can also come in aid of muscle pain.
- Migraine, depression, and anxiety: These are some of specific health conditions for which Shiatsu massage was originally invented for. Shiatsu massager is a great way of dealing with these issues. Some therapists even recommend shiatsu massage for the treatment of depression and anxiety.
- Helps you gain better skin: Surprised? I was too. This is actually an indirect result of another benefit that shiatsu massager provides. Shiatsu massager helps you remove all sorts of digestive problems and keeps your stomach healthy. Numerous studies have shown the first step to getting better glowing skin is to have a healthy stomach. Good digestive system equals better skin. If you have skin problems, I’d strongly suggest you to get a shiatsu massager (you can thank me later).
- PTSD issues: PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder can be really harmful to mental health. Guess what!? A shiatsu massager can also help you deal with PTSD too. What it does is help the body release extra dopamine and serotonin, which in return calms this syndrome (If you have PTSD, please take doctor’s advice before using a shiatsu massager).
There are many more benefits that a shiatsu massager provides that I did not talk about (I didn’t wanna bore you to death). For instances pregnancy issues, sleeping disorders, chronic pain and many more. In general shiatsu massager has now become an all-purpose massaging technique.
Types of Shiatsu massager
There are mainly three different types of shiatsu massagers (based on the part of the body they work on). They are the following –
Shiatsu neck massagers
As the name suggests, Shiatsu neck massager is specifically designed to work on your neck and shoulder. It primarily helps to cure neck and shoulder pain. It has one or two massaging unit along with two hand holder cushions.
You put the massaging unit on top of your shoulder and put your arms inside the handlers, that’s pretty much it. Shiatsu neck massagers usually come with a built-in heating system that provides a more shooting feeling in your neck while easing the tightness of the muscles.
‘Portability of these types of massagers gives them a good edge over the other two.
Shiatsu Back Massagers
Shiatsu back massagers are for those who sit in front of a computer all day or at office table staring at papers. They come in different forms like chair, pillow or something that looks similar to a neck massager with some added straps around the back.
These things can also come into three sub categories based on the area of the back they work on. A “Full Back Massager” works for both upper and lower back. The other two work only on either upper or lower back. Shiatsu back massager works like a champ for back pains.
These products are also decently portable (not as much as the neck massager though). So, yeah! You can carry them literally any place you want.
Shiatsu foot massager
Again, just like the name suggests, a shiatsu footer massager primary works on your feet (no rocket science here). Under your feet to be precise. Typically, shiatsu foot massagers come in the form of two paddles that are stuck together.
You put your feet on or inside (yes, some devices require you to put your feet inside them. Don’t be alarmed though) the device and voila it starts doing its wizardry. After a long day of when you come home with your tired feet, nobody can be a better friend than a shiatsu foot massager at that particular moment.
9 Best Shiatsu Massager Based on The Area of the Body They Operate on
For the review, I’ve picked 3 products from each of the above-mentioned categories. I’ve considered a few very important factors while choosing the top 3 from each category. I’ll talk about those important factors in another section later.
Top 3 Best Rated Shiatsu Neck Massagers
In this section, I’ll only talk about 3 shiatsu neck massager that I found to be the best among all other.
1. Zyllion Black Shiatsu Pillow Massager Review: Bang for The Buck
One word that can describe Zyllion ZMA-13-BK perfectly is “Ergonomic”. The ease of use of this particular massager is one of the reasons why I believe it’s the best shiatsu neck massager when it comes to your necks. It’s a really good tool to help you unwind and relax those tight muscles.
One of the coolest features of Zyllion ZMA-13-BK is the 3D shiatsu massage nodes. The other thing that I like most is the evenness of the pods/balls. The heads of these massaging pods area actually flat and they are heated.
These heated pods are really great for overdone and aching muscles. They provide an amazing tingling and shooting sensation throughout the whole body. This awesome massaging device also comes with switches via which you can easily turn or off the heating system.
The manufacturer has integrated an overheat protection system. This is also another great feature.
I won’t be babbling about all the technical jargon. In short, you’ll never get burnt by the heated massaging pods.
This thing is super portable. It comes with a great strap that can be attached to literally anywhere you want. This art of a device can be placed on your couch, on your bed, on your car… you name it.
It comes with a direct plug and massage system. More importantly, it comes with a car adapter inside the box (How cool is that?). So, if you are someone who loves multitasking, this massager is definitely for you.
This device is mainly made to work best on the neck area. However, it can still be used as a back massager. Just put it on your couch vertically and rest your lower back on it. And that’s pretty much it. You’ll immediately feel the power of shiatsu massage surging through the lower to the upper back of your body.
If you want your upper back to be massaged, that can be done as well. Put the device on top of one or two (depending on your height) cushions/pillows and lay your back on it. It’ll now serve you as a very high-tech upper back massager.
- Excellent muscle reliever
- Compact, ergonomic and versatile
- Easy and simple strap mechanism
- Evenly shaped 3D massaging pods/balls
- Heating system for better sensation
- Comes with limited time guarantee and warranty
- Safety is great with overheat protection system.
- Customer support is A+
- Designed to be used on different body parts
- The fabric can be frayed easily on some units (although they do provide replacements for such issues).
- The size of the device is not very good for a neck massager. It’s a little too long for that.
- Might cause skin burn (depending on skin type).
2. Zyllion Shiatsu Neck & Back Massager Cushion: A Blend of Both World
Would you look at that? Another massager from Zyllion that is in my list of best rated shiatsu massagers. I assure you. I’m not being biased or anything. They genuinely make great products.
This one, however, is a bit different from the previous one. ZMA-14 is intentionally targeted for both the neck and back of one’s body. This is not a happy accident like ZMA-13-BK.
However, there’s a catch. While it works great for both neck and back it loses the portability factor. Don’t get me wrong. You can still carry this any place you want to. It’s not humongous or something, but it’s not as portable as the other traditional shiatsu neck massager.
Remember earlier I told you that a shiatsu massager can make your skin better by improving your digestive system? Like many others, this one can also help you digest better and improve blood flow.
This one comes with 4 pairs of massaging balls. 2 of them are on the back area and 2 on the neck area of the seat. The rolling shiatsu massaging balls along the back area of the seat are adjustable. You can adjust the balls placing according to your need.
It also comes with the heating feature for those extra shooting sensations that you and I love so much (AHH!! I can already feel a tingling sensation along my neck).
This massager can be used on any chair you can think of. Use the elastic straps to secure the massager seat on any chair you want (even if it’s a dining chair) and TADA!! You have the best chair in the house.
Fun fact, the bottom part of the device also vibrates. Didn’t expect that, did you?
One thing that I can tell you without a hint of hesitation is that the ZMA – 14 provides an experience that is really close to the real thing.
This one also comes with the overheating protection that Zyllion provides. The automatic 20 minutes turn off feature is great for energy conservation while providing safety at the same time.
Would you look at that? You have a remote control at your disposal as well! You can control literally every feature this massager provides. Shiatsu, Heat, kneading, and the timing interval all these can be controlled with the remote controller.
This is hands down the best robotic neck and back massage cushion you can find. If you want a taste of both worlds without forgoing too much quality, go for it.
- Adjustable massaging pods
- Comes with 4 pairs of massaging balls
- Works for both back and neck
- Can be used with any chair
- Very comfortable fabric
- Very safe to use
- Work on both 110-120V and 220-240V outlet
- Varying levels of vibration on the seat of the cushion
- Comes with limited time guarantee and warranty
- Can treat both mid and upper back simultaneously
- Improves the digestive system
- The massaging balls are a bit too hard
- Massaging balls on the back area protrudes too much for my liking
- Not ideal for people who are below 5’5”
- Neck massager is definitely weaker than the back massager.
3. RESTECK Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager: A Worthy Competitor
It’s undoubtedly the worthy competition to Zyllion when it comes to getting rid of that pesky pain in your shoulder and neck (not to mention the tightness) at a crazy price.
This neck and back massager is guaranteed to give you very close to the accurate massaging experience that you’d expect from a professional massager/ chiropractor. I’m telling you. It feels almost exactly like real hands.
If you are someone like me who carries stuff around every now and then (and who sits in front of a computer screen all day), you’ll one hundred percent love this massager from RESTECK. It will definitely help you deal with acute pains in your muscles that would typically hinder every move of yours.
It’s portable and great for outdoor massaging. Trust me you can take thing anywhere you like. Even in the toilet (I’m not saying you should. It’s just a possibility. You know. Wink! Wink!). The wonderful original lather made pouch is great for storage and carrying.
It comes with 8 (4 pairs) bidirectional kneading nodes that will make sure you get the best experience out of it. The adjustable heating and vibration systems are also pretty awesome.
If you were wondering about how you could adjust the heat and vibration of the device, don’t. RESTECK has got you covered. At the left of the pouch (which I like to call the hand rest), there are for switches for control.
You can choose different vibration modes or change the amount of the heat you prefer with the help of these switches.
The multipurpose nature of this massager is the main selling point. Although the name might say it’s a neck and back massager, you can easily incorporate this with other parts of your body. I’ve tested it with my calves, thighs, and feet (Yeah you heard it right. I used it on my feet) and it worked reasonably well there as well.
It definitely ticked all the right boxes for me. The effects, while you’re using it, is great. But trust me, it’s even better after you’re done with the massage. 15 minutes of massage with this thing is more than enough to get rid of all the tightness and pains in your muscles.
- Very portable
- Easy heat and vibration control
- 8 bidirectional kneading pods
- Can be used on almost all parts of the body
- Comes with a lifetime warranty (as of writing of this article)
- Great for people with chronic headaches and fibromyalgia
- Easy and useful pouch or arm rest
- Can be used outdoors as it’s extremely lightweight
- Motors are not durable
- The cord being very short can limit your natural movements
- If you like more heat, it’s not going to cut it
Top 3 Best Shiatsu Back Massagers
This brings me to the next section of this review. This section is dedicated for shiatsu back massagers. So, without any further ado, let the hunt for best shiatsu back massager begin.
1. Snailax Shiatsu Massage Cushion with Heat Massage Chair: Mobility for Massaging
Does your job require you to sit on the chair whole day? Have you already developed a bad posture? Do the muscles ache too much?
If yes, then you are in for a treat!
With Snailax SL-256 you can do your work while having a very relaxing massage. This massaging device can be fit on almost every chair you can think of. The strapping mechanism this massager is very intuitive. You can easily use the straps to secure the massager on a chair, sofa or couch.
It comes with 4 kneading massage nodes that can move up and down to cover your entire back region. You can also switch between different modes to choose the area that you prefer to be massaged.
The fact that you can turn the intensity of the massaging balls up or down a notch is purely amazing.
The back of this device has great fabrics and an ergonomic curve. It feels very natural and relaxing.
Snailax didn’t forget about the importance of the seat as well. There are vibration motors in the seat and they are really powerful. However, if you prefer the vibration to be less intensive, you can do that as well. There are three different levels of vibration that you can choose from.
In my personal experience highest vibration level is the one you should go for. However, you can try it out yourself and choose the level of intensity that you prefer. To each their own, right?
The back region of this massager also includes a heating system. This heat can be spread all the way from your back to the shoulder and lumber.
It also provides a convenient controller. With the controller, you can adjust every single mechanism of this massaging chair (like adjusting heat, vibration and stuff like that).
- Adjustable massaging nodes
- Adjustable heat system
- Adjustable vibration level
- Very ergonomic back region
- Flexible massaging nodes
- Light weight and easy to use
- Can cover entire back simultaneously
- Experience is very humanlike
- Very mobile. You can easily use it while you are driving.
- Not recommended for short people as it only comes in one size
- Not very efficient when it comes to electricity consumption
- It can literally bruise you. Better use towel or something in between the massager and your back.
- Does not offer both heat and massage at the same time (well, that’s a bummer for me).
2. Etekcity Shiatsu Massager for Back: One Massager to Rule Them All
Without a hint of doubt, I can say this is not only the best shiatsu back massager but also the best shiatsu massager overall.
The bidirectional massaging nodes is a champ when it comes to treating your body the right way. Tight muscles, sore back, neck pain, and cramp in the muscle you name it. This beast can work with anything and everything.
After you get this, you can forget about getting a professional massage. Some people even buy dedicated massagers of separate body parts. This particular massager will make sure that you don’t need to spend extra cash on redundant stuff.
For people who workout a lot, this is a must-have. This will surely help get rid of muscle soreness.
It comes with 4 massaging balls with all different sizes. All of them can apply different levels of pressure simultaneously. Although, they wanted all four levels of intensity to be applied at the same time, in my personal usage I felt the larger ball to be more predominant.
The built-in heating system is also great. The industry standard 20 minutes’ auto shut off is also present. So, you don’t have to worry about burning yourself if you fall asleep over it (we all know, this happens a lot).
The rotation speed of the balls is also adjustable. There are two custom modes that you can choose from.
The included AC adapter works on both 110V and 220V outlets. The most amazing thing about this massager is the included DC adapter for cars. That means you can also charge your massager form your car (just like how you charge you cellphones).
This massager comes with a pillow cover that’ll make sure there are not dirt or specks of dust while it lays idle somewhere.
If you are wondering why I did not talk about the strap, that’s because there’s nothing special about it. It’s just a regular strap (meh :/).
- 8 massaging nodes
- Industry standard heating system
- Adjustable rotational speed
- Comes with a car charger
- Limited time money back guarantee (as of writing this review)
- Works on almost every part of the body
- Energy efficient
- Great customer support
- Offers deep tissue kneading
- Only the larger ball dictates the level of pressure.
- Adjustments needed while the massager is working for the appropriate pressure
- Massaging balls protrude too much.
- Too much pressure on the device sometimes turns it off (Weird?).
3. SNAILAX Shiatsu Back Massage Seat Cushion: Special Massage with Best Bang for the Buck
Another great massaging seat from Snailax. This one, however, is a bit different. So far, we have seen massagers that perform a rotational style of massage. This one comes with two massage heads that go in and out providing you a true to life figure pressing feeling.
For those of you who missed it. The literal meaning of shiatsu is “Finger Press” (sorry for being redundant).
So, yeah this one’s a bit different than all others. It also provides a 3D massage (oh!!! That sounds cool).
If you select the 3D massaging mode, two massage heads will go in an out alternatively. Whereas, in 2D mode, both of them were moving simultaneously. Honestly, this is just to trick to give you a feel of one finger press style of massage. It actually isn’t nothing more than that.
You might have already thought about the shiatsu roller, right?
Well, don’t sweat. Snailax has got you covered there as well. They’ve also provided a roller that moves in up and down fashion to cover your entire back (upper to lower).
Both the rollers and the and width of the massage heads of back massager are adjustable. It also has 3 custom massage zone settings. They are full back, upper back, and lower back. And trust me they are really satisfying.
Another cool feature that is often ignored by other manufacturer is the ability to set a very specific massaging zone. Some call it “SPOT massage”. As the name suggests, with this you can command the massager to operate on a very specific area of your back (we all have that one annoying SPOT).
Hey, where’s the heating system, you ask?
Well, Snailax also didn’t forget about the importance of an integrated heating system. This massager comes with a top of the line heating system. F.Y.I heating system of a massager does help improve blood circulation.
The bottom seat also includes vibration motors. It has three different levels of vibration intensity. Choose whichever gives you the best comfort.
The strapping system allows you to secure this massager seat on almost every chair, sofa, the couch you can think of. So, yeah! That’s definitely a plus
- 2D and 3D massaging style
- Adjustable roller and massage heads
- Heat therapy
- Great vibration for hip and thigh massage
- Energy efficient
- Very portable
- You need to use a reclining chair for optimum performance.
- Rollers have a durability issue.
- A bit too noisy
- I faced some issues while switching modes between 2D and 3D massage style (you may or may not face this issue).
Top 3 Best Shiatsu Foot Massagers
This brings us to the next and last type of shiatsu massager that I’ll cover in this review. The scoring criteria is also pretty similar. I chose the following three products based on ergonomics, functionality, comfort, and ease of use.
So, without any further ado let’s talk about some of the foot massagers that I think are the best.
1. Cloud Massage Shiatsu Foot Massager: Buddy of Tired Feet
Do you feel pain, discomfort, and swelling in your legs?
Cloud Massage foot massager will definitely come to your aid if the answer was yes. This foot massager is a great companion for those who sit in a chair all day (for whatever the reason behind that may be).
Guess what? That’s not all.
This massager is the best foot massager for people who are diabetic or are close to having diabetic neuropathy.
That’s enough about why this massager can be your health buddy. Let’s now talk about all the feature this beast has.
Perhaps, the most amazing feature of this foot massager is the bar (you know, the place where you put your feet on). While other massagers force you to keep your leg at a 90-degree angle and your knees together, this massager does not go that route.
I was really amazed to see this. Cloud Massage was like – “We don’t do that here” (in T’challa’s voice)
That was an Avenger 4 reference in case you didn’t know that.
It is very powerful. It kneads your feet just like how you’d knead a pizza dough. Very delicate yet powerful.
Another cool thing about this massager is the ability to adjust the massager to knead different part of your leg. For instance, you can put the massager in a horizontal position and rest your calves on it. And voila, you just turned your foot massager into a calf massager (I dig that).
Next up from the feature bucket of this massager is the dual massage option. It features multiple settings for heat, vibration and air pressure. Choose whichever you think is the best settings for you.
One thing that you should most definitely keep in mind is not to go wild with the pressure settings. Start with very low pressure and increase gradually. Remember to follow this instruction very precisely. Even the manufacturer suggests you do that.
This massager gets very close to mimicking the actual shiatsu foot massage.
The therapeutic way of this massager makes it the best buddy for your tired feet.
- Adjustable bar
- Provides heat, pressure, and vibration to your feet
- Comes with a myriad of different settings for heat, pressure, and vibration
- Increases blood flow very effectively
- Comes with limited time warranty (as of writing this review)
- You can also use this on your other area of your leg.
- It’s loud.
- Does not get hot enough (this was as per my personal preference. You might like the heat level)
2. Miko Shiatsu Foot Massager with Deep-Kneading: A Completely Different Beast
Okay, let’s make one thing straight here. This massager is a dedicated foot massager. It’s not like the previous one which was a multipurpose foot massager. As a matter of fact, it doesn’t even try to be something rather than a foot massager.
The advantage of this design choice is “Purity”. Nothing and I mean nothing can beat this massager when it comes to foot massage.
This massager features two independent foot chambers. Put your feet in them and start enjoying an amazing massage. It’s as simple as that.
If you are suffering from chronically achy feet or foot neuropathy, I’d definitely suggest you try this. The powerful kneader will help increase blood flow.
The design of this foot massager is top notch. It has kind of a spacecraft flavor to it. The space grey color makes it even more pronounced.
It’s compact and very portable. You can easily slide this thing under the sofa or your bed. More importantly, you can take this massager anywhere you want. You can easily take it to your office and use it while working.
Heat, vibration, and pressure functions are an integral part of this massager. Heat and pressure applied by this foot massager are very accurate and shooting.
The vibration system, however, is a different story (well, for me at least). It provides very subtle vibration to your feet.
Let’s just say I’m not a big fan of this subtlety. I do prefer stronger vibration.
It comes with 5 different settings for pressure. These 5 options target very specific pressure points. I personally prefer level 2. You can try different settings and choose the one which is best suited for you.
Trust me once you use it, you will get addicted to it. That’s how good this massager is.
One thing that you should keep in mind is, this massager is for those who love powerful kneading. If you are looking for something more soothing, it would be wise to avoid making the purchase.
- A pure foot massager
- Powerful kneading
- Sleek design
- Compact and portable
- Adjustable pressure settings
- Limited time warranty (as of writing this review)
- Comes with 2 wireless remotes that grant you full control in the palm of your hand.
- Not suitable for people who prefer light massage
- Does not work efficiently enough on the ankle
- Vibration is weak (as per my liking).
3. MARNUR Shiatsu Foot Massager with Electric Heat Kneading: Worth every penny
If you’re trying to find the best price to performance ration, this one is for you.
The performance you get for the price is just stupendously good. This alone makes Marnur foot massager a great contender for the best shiatsu foot massager.
This massager comes with all the bells and whistles that you’d want in a foot massager. Shiatsu kneading pod, roller, heat everything is here. This massager is best suited for people who walk a lot. After a long day of work when you put your feet into it, you’ll feel the force awakening within your feet (A Star Wars reference).
Like all good foot massager, this massager also comes with varying levels of intensity. These levels allow you to control different variables like heat, pressure etc.
One thing that I liked very much is the indicator light that represents what intensity level you are currently on. Trust me, so many manufacturers ignore small details like these. I think the finer details are what separates the best from the goods.
White light means light mode, green means medium and red means the strongest mode, in case you were wondering.
It comes with an electric heating system that only heats the soles. You can either pre-heat the massager before at the temperature of your liking or do it gradually while you are enjoying the massage.
We all know foot massagers can get stinky over time. Cleaning a foot massager can be a cumbersome task. Specially the ones that feature two separate chambers (like this one). With that thought in mind, Marnur has made the foot cover detachable.
You can easily remove the top foot cover and clean the massager to your heart’s content. This is a great plus for people whose feet get all stinky and smelly very easily. You definitely don’t want your foot massager to be stinky, do you?
This is a shiatsu foot massager that was designed to give you a very realistic experience.
- Cost effective
- Different settings for heat, pressure, and other variables
- Provides both powerful and soothing massage
- Beautiful and ergonomic design
- Detachable cover
- 15 minutes auto shut-off timer
- Automatic overheat detection and protection (by shutting the massager off).
- Excellent customer support (I know this is manufacturer specific).
- Not suitable for people who love light massage (although it provides both options).
- You absolutely need to put your feet all the way in (unless you want to get pinched by the machine).
Important Features that you should consider before making the purchase
So here we are.
Here I’ll be discussing key factors that you need to keep in mind when choosing these products. Make sure to follow through if you are interested in doing your own thing and research deeply.
If you are still confused which one to buy or you didn’t like any of the products that I mentioned (to each their own, right?), you can make your own choice after skimming through this section.
The five features that are very important before making a buying decision are –
- Design and Ergonomics
- Heat, vibration, pressure, and other variables
- Different settings (custom heat, intensity and stuff like that)
If you consider these factors, you are more likely to land with the best shiatsu massager than not.
Now let’s take a deeper dive into these 5 key features.
1. Design and Ergonomic
This goes without saying. You definitely don’t want an ugly looking massager that is also very unergonomic to use. Always make sure the one you are about to buy is intuitive to use.
For instance, if you are looking for a shiatsu neck massager, make sure it’s not too wide and does not hurt your neck. Your neck should rest on the massager’s surface perfectly and effortlessly. The same thing applies for any shiatsu massager.
In general, you should choose one that does not force you to adjust to it. Rather the massager should adjust to you.
Portability is another very important factor to consider. You’d want to use something that is easy to carry. If a massager weighs too much, avoid that.
The reason people buy these massagers so that they don’t have to go to a therapist. What’s the purpose of a massager if you cannot use it whenever and wherever you like?
Look for something that is very mobile and you’re all set to go.
3. Heat, vibration, pressure and other variables
Try and find a massager that includes as much massage elements as possible. And most importantly make sure it provides shiatsu style massage.
One issue you might encounter while doing your own research is many manufacturers don’t include all massaging elements. Some might not have vibration system or heat or pressure.
In cases like these, what you want to do is find the one you priorities more over the other. Look for something that strikes a balance between all your needs (unless it has everything).
I’ve used a bunch of massagers because my job requires it. One thing I despise most is a noisy massager. Trust me you won’t like a noisy massager either (doesn’t matter how good it is).
So, yeah… avoid the noisy ones.
How can you know if it’s a noisy one? Well, look for an online review (like this one. Wink! Wink!) of that massager or just go to a store and try it yourself. If you like it after trying it, go ahead with it.
5. Different settings
This one is the last but definitely not the least.
Here at Makeupkitz, we are strong believers of individuality. Same should be applied for massagers as well. Everyone has different taste and likings. What you like others may not and vice versa.
That’s why you should definitely choose a massager that comes with different settings for elements like heat, pressure, and vibration (unless you plan on using it exclusively). These days most manufacturers make massager equipped with the ability to apply different settings. So, this should not be a huge barrier.
So, our hunt for the best shiatsu massager is coming to an end. I’ve tried my best to cover everything while being unbiased. If you’re looking for my recommendation for each category, here you go –
Best Shiatsu Neck massager: SNAILAX Shiatsu Back Massage Seat Cushion
